FMHS Jaguars Dive, Swim and Water Polo Teams

Jaguars - I want to thank everyone who helped with the Post District Championship last Friday. We really have some great parents and some very loyal swimmers who sacrificed their time to make this a successful meet. For most of our athletes, this was the culminating swim competition for the 2009-2010 season. We do have 13 swim and divers who are still in the mix for a chance to compete at state this year so we will focus our attention to them as they prepare. The team will officially transition to the off season beginning next week with continued strength and technique training.

From Coach Dan - Tomorrow night we will have our annual dual against Marcus at the LISD Natatorium. This competition is also our Senior appreciation night and the last time our 13 seniors will compete in a HS dual meet. Swimmers will ride the bus to the pool and will need to stay for the entire competition. Coach Murdock and I will start signing swimmers out to their parents for transportation home after the 400 Freestyle relays and there will be a bus that will take all others back to the school.

Swimmers - Great to see everyone back from the Christmas break as I know you are as excited to see us as we are to be a part of your endeavors to excel in swimming and diving. Practice will go on at the regular times this week with the added excitement of being able to train on the 14th, 15th and 18th from 2:30 until 4:30. All practices are mandatory! Please pick up your Subway order forms this week for our final dual meet of the season on the 12th against Marcus. We will all dress up that day for school and travel by bus to the LISD Natatorium.

Jaguars - Sorry to say that we will not have any practice on New Year's day. I know that we need it but get some rest and we will adjust the team's requirement for training to 7 times over the break. Those who have practiced somewhere besides with the team need to have either their parents or the coach verify their training days. On Tuesday the 5th we will have a special practice session at the LISD Natatorium with a practice meet against McKinney afterward. Those who have trained over the break will assist with the running of the meet.

Swimmers - Please remember that training over the break is mandatory. Swimmers in town must train with the team at the CAC every day next week. JV trains from 1 -3 PM and Varsity trains from 2 - 4 PM. If you are training with your club team during the break, we would still love to have at our sessions but as long as you get at least 8 training sessions, ours is not mandatory.
