I have copied and pasted the email that Coach Jason sent the FMHS faculty Sunday evening.
Last Monday the Hebron principal, Hugh Jones, guaranteed Coach Vanderford that HHS, and not FMHS, would win the Region II Swim & Dive Championship this past weekend. The Hebron bus made it to the meet before us and that was as close as Mr. Jones ever got to his guarantee.
A little over a week ago the Marcus girls edged us out of the District Championship by 1 1/2 points. I am happy to say that history did not repeat itself as our girls squeaked out a three point win to become Region Champs. Alison Moffit won the 200 IM and earned a trip to Austin for the State meet in two weeks. Alison also won the 200 Free Relay along with Taylor Kenney, Beth Waller, and Kelsey Fugere. This is the first time any of these have qualified for state.
The boys have had an easier road to travel (so far) as they handily won the Region II championship. Event winner were
*200 Medley Relay - Max Murphy, Jeremy Steward, Jake Brown, Jack Dwyer
*50 Free - Jack Dwyer
*100 Fly - Max Murphy
200 Free Relay - Trey Gregory, Christian Sanford, Jake Brown, Jack Dwyer
*100 Back - Max Murphy
400 Free Relay - Blake Parsley, Jake Brown, Trey Gregory, Max Murphy
All of these swims qualified for the state meet as well as Trey Gregory, Jake Brown and Jack Dwyer that all got picked up for the state meet in the 100 Free.
*School Record
We have less than two weeks until a new state champion will be crowned. Hopefully I can continue to spread good news then as well.
Thanks for the support,
Jason
